I’m a hip-hop artist, multi-genre music producer, songwriter, musician and DJ who advocates for justice through song. With music messaging that can resonate and transcend generations, hip-hop is my medium to reach, inspire, teach, and advocate. As a hip-hop artist, I often portray songs that reflect and mirror struggle, pain, tragedy, and trauma yet simultaneously championing hope, justice, victory and triumph. Whenever discussing social ills through songs, I highlight solutions to those social ills. The ultimate goal is a place of victory.

I’ve never underestimated the power of my music and I’m very aware that my voice can make a difference. My music often speaks for those who’ve felt overlooked, dismissed, outcasted or felt like they didn’t have a voice at all. Using my voice through music is a way for me to make a positive social impact for the aforementioned and beyond. It is truly a part of why I was born.

Von Vargas is an award–winning positive hip–hop artist, producer, songwriter, and DJ who advocates for justice through song. With music messaging that resonates and transcends generations, hip–hop is his medium to reach, inspire, teach, and advocate. Von’s music often reflects and mirrors struggle, pain, tragedy, and trauma while simultaneously championing hope, justice, victory, and triumph. Whenever discussing social ills through song, he highlights solutions to those issues. His ultimate goal is to take listeners to a place of victory. 

Von recently developed and produced the 28 Days of Black Futures campaign, which raised over $50K through a collaborative effort of 28 artists, benefiting community organizations. The Baker Artist Award winner also shares a Stellar Award nomination and has received the 2024 Gold Hermes Creative Award and the 2024 MarCom Gold Award. 

Von has composed music for major projects, including Peacock TV's original series True Stories, music marketing campaigns, and sync placements for ESPN, CBS Sports, CNN, HBO/Vice TV, BET, United Healthcare, and the American Cancer Society, among others. His work has been featured in numerous national and international media outlets, and he recently produced an audio piece that is now a permanent exhibit at Baltimore’s Cylburn Nature Education Center. 

A two–time National Trustee of the Recording Academy (known for the GRAMMY Awards), Von is also a community curator for The Digilogue, a global platform connecting and educating music creatives worldwide. He participated in the creation of two new award categories: The Harry Belafonte Best Song for Social Change (a Trustees Award) and Best African Music Performance (a new GRAMMY Award, for which Von was a co–author). As co–owner of Creative Development Studios, Von continues to serve corporate, community, and educational clients through his musical talents. 

Lastly appointed to the Mayor’s Arts & Culture Advisory Committee, Von hopes to help make a difference in the musical landscape of Baltimore, MD.
